Frequently asked

Common questions about humanoid robots

What is a humanoid robot?+
A humanoid robot has a roughly human shape: torso, two arms, two legs, a head. That form factor lets it use tools, move through human spaces and interact with people without those spaces being redesigned. "Humanoid" describes the body; the AI stack inside varies widely.
How much does a humanoid robot cost in 2026?+
Pricing in 2026 ranges from around $16,000 for entry-level research platforms like Unitree G1 to undisclosed enterprise contracts that likely run into hundreds of thousands per unit per year. Most B2B deals are structured as Robotics-as-a-Service rather than outright purchases.
Can I buy a humanoid robot as a consumer right now?+
Not really. Entry-level Unitree models are technically purchasable but are research-grade, not consumer products. A capable, supported platform at consumer prices is realistic toward 2028–2030.
Which humanoid robots are commercially deployed?+
In 2026, deployments are nearly all enterprise pilots. Figure 02 runs at BMW, Digit at Amazon and other warehouse operators, Atlas at Hyundai's automotive plants. Unitree's G1 is the closest thing to a consumer-purchasable product today, though its capability and support are limited.
Is BotsGenius affiliated with any manufacturer?+
No. BotsGenius is independent editorial coverage. We do not accept sponsorship from manufacturers and disclose any future sponsored placements clearly. All robot profiles are built from public sources cited at the bottom of each page.
How often is the information updated?+
We aim to publish or update content daily. Each robot and manufacturer profile carries a "last reviewed" date. If a vendor announces a new generation or specs change, we update the existing profile rather than creating a duplicate.
