AI robots

AI robots, beyond just humanoids

AI robots is the broader category that includes humanoids, mobile manipulators, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and any robot that runs learned policies instead of fixed scripts. Humanoid robots are a subset, and the most consumer-visible one. Plenty of AI-driven platforms in 2026 don't look human at all.

Common subcategories

  • Humanoid robots: bipedal, anthropomorphic platforms (Atlas, Optimus, Figure 02)
  • Quadruped robots: four-legged platforms for inspection and logistics (Spot, ANYmal)
  • Autonomous mobile robots (AMRs): wheeled platforms used in warehouses and factories
  • Mobile manipulators: wheeled bases with dexterous arms
  • Service robots: cleaning, delivery, hospitality, retail

Why we focus on humanoids

Humanoids are the highest-bandwidth way to drop a robot into spaces and tools designed for humans, without redesigning warehouses, kitchens or factories. That gives them the broadest potential addressable market, and it's the platform we cover in most depth on BotsGenius.
