Unitree G1

Manufactured by Unitree Robotics · 2024

A compact, aggressively priced humanoid that has become the default research and education platform.

Unitree G1

Summary

The Unitree G1 is a compact full-body humanoid that launched into mass production in August 2024 at a base price of $13,500 — roughly an order of magnitude below comparable Western platforms. It has become the most-published commercial humanoid in academic literature.

The G1 stands 132 cm tall, weighs 35 kg and offers 23 degrees of freedom in its base configuration, scaling up to 43 on higher EDU configurations. It uses a 9,000 mAh battery with 30-second hot-swap, hits 2 m/s and holds a 1.4 m standing long-jump record. Unitree backs it with the open-sourced UnifoLM model family and locomotion trained in NVIDIA Isaac Gym. Configurations run from the $13,500 base up to roughly $73,900 for fully-equipped EDU units. Unitree reported shipping over 5,500 humanoid robots in 2025 and is the only humanoid company widely reported as profitable.
