Summary
Dobot Atom is the first full-size humanoid from Dobot, a veteran maker of collaborative robotic arms, launched for global delivery in June 2025 at an aggressive price of around US$27,500. It stands 153 cm, weighs 62 kg and offers 28 upper-body degrees of freedom.
Atom leans on Dobot's manipulation heritage: a transformer-based control architecture, binocular RGB vision and ±0.05 mm precision, with a straight-leg walking system the company says reduces energy use by about 42% versus bent-knee gaits. A higher-end Atom Max variant raises this to 41 degrees of freedom, dual 7-DOF arms with a 5 kg payload, 6-DOF dexterous hands, Intel RealSense D455 depth sensing, 1,500 TOPS of compute and walking up to 1.5 m/s. Dobot positions Atom for research, education and light commercial manipulation, leveraging the global distribution it built selling robotic arms.
