EngineAI is a Shenzhen-based humanoid robotics company founded in October 2023 by Zhao Tongyang, former lead of the XPeng PX5 project, with backing from HongShan and JD.com.

Founded in October 2023, EngineAI has moved quickly from concept to commercial sales, unveiling its SE01 humanoid robot in October 2024. The SE01 targets research institutions and early industrial adopters with a price range of approximately $20,000–$30,000, while the smaller PM01 (138 cm, 40 kg, 24 DOF) offers a more accessible entry point at roughly ¥88,000 (~$12,000). EngineAI raised approximately 100 million yuan in angel funding and has set a target of delivering more than 1,000 units during 2025. The company's engineering heritage — led by an ex-XPeng automotive AI executive — informs its focus on end-to-end neural-network gait control and aerospace-grade materials.
